Trip to Oxford

Today I went to Oxford because I join a trip which is going to Oxford of the Chinese society.

It is a long trip which take 2 and half hours to travel to there.

Then, we went to the Christ Church Cathedral with the tour guide which is a Chinese student study in Oxford University.

The Christ Church Cathedral is really huge and beautiful.

The environment there is really good, the view is perfect.

I meet some new friends there, and take a lot of photo.

After going to the Christ Church Cathedral, I went to two different College of Oxford -- University College and Queen College. However, because it is already the fresher's week of Oxford, so the College are not open to public. Therefore, I can only visit the front door of the College, poor me.

Then, I went to do some shopping, and I discovered there is a wedding cake shop, the wedding cake are really really beautiful, I really hope I can have a such beautiful cake in my wedding.

At last, I went to a museum, it is the Ashmolean Museum.

I back to Canterbury ot about 10:00p.m.

I was really tried about this trip, but it is really a good trip.

First Week of Study

I have my first lesson in this Monday.

The lesson here are usually one hour only, a bit short, but one module usually have three lesson a week. I think it is good because student can really concentrate on the lesson.

The student here are really concentrate to the lesson all the time and always ask questions. They do not eat, do not sleep and do not play PSP or NDS in lesson. I think the atmosphere is better than Hong Kong.

In this week, I have try many modules in order to finalize my choice such as Programming Language Technology, Advanced Java for programmers, Dynamic Web, Computer Graphics and Animation, Computer Security and Cryptography, Systems Architecture.

However, some of them have overlaping in the timetable and some of them are very hard>.<
For example, Advanced Java for programmers is a module for master student to study.

My final choice would be following if I do not change my mind tomorrow.

• Advanced Java for programmers
• Dynamic Web
• Computer Graphics and Animation
• Computer Security and Cryptography

I hope I can get through all of them and enjoy my life here in this three months.


p.s. Some bad thing have happened that my food in the refrigerator and cupboard in the common area have disappered. I don't know who do this but I really hope this will not happen again.

Welcome Week

The life become busy after the welcome week start.

In fact, I need to attend to many talks everyday. And there are so many parties and welcome dinners. I went to two welcome dinner this week, one in the international dinner, one is the Keynes college welcome buffer. Both are free and I feel really happy with this.

Also, there are a welcome fayre last for two day which is for the student societies to promote and for new student to join. There are so many student societies and I have join some of them too. I have joined swimming, bedminton, karate, film club....etc.

After the fayer, there are a BBQ bar and you can have burger. It is really nice although you need to pay for it, it is just 1.5 pounds.

After two days in Canterbury

I have arrived Canterbury for two days allready. The University of Kent is really a huge places, there are so many different buildings. Life in here is quilt fine and I have made some friend here. There are many international student in here and they are all very friendly.


The first place I want to introduce is my house.

The place I lived in is call Park wood, it is really a great place with fresh air. It is so big and every building are similar that I get lost in here in the first day. But I find it is easier to find out my way now.

I went to the city cental of Canterbury in these days and buy a lot of things.

The city is beauiful and have many shops, eg. M&S, McDonald, Buger King, H&M......etc.

In fact, there are no duvet in the room and the office can rent us for 25 pounds. I have not rent it because it is really too expersive for me. I feel so cold in the first night as I have no duvet to sleep. But I have buy it with a bed sheet and duvet cover set in the town in monday and I can sleep well now.

Arrived in UK

After 14 hours of plane, I have arrived in UK.

The plane is full of people and crown. I feel hard to sleep in there.


















After arrived UK, I take the coach from airport to London and London to Canterbury.






































After two coachs and nearly 3 hours, I arrived the central bus stop of Canterbury.


















Then, I take the unibus to the University of Kent.


















Then, I take the key from the parkwood office. However, I don't even know how to go to my house as parkwood is very big.


When I was thinking, one of the 'fab' guy, the student that will help the new students, ask me if I need help. Then, I tell him I don't know how to go to Ellenden Court 16D. He not only teach me how to go, but also take me to the house and help me to take my luggage. The people here is so nice.



At last, I arrived in my room.













































It is really a nice place and I will start my new life here!!!!!!

Last day before going to UK

Today is the late day before going ahead to England.

I have a lot of gatherings before to say good-bye to all my friends.

I will arrive at the airport (HKIA) tomorrow and the plane we take did take off at mid night.

It is the time for my new journey.

I hope I can learn as much thing as I can and become a independent girl.
